Haven’t booked your tickets? Don’t worry, there will be tickets on the door! Also, there will be lots of activities you don’t need to book for.

You are invited to experience Tilgate Park in a whole new way with a lineup packed full of live performances, art installations, drop-in creativity and more. Visitors to the festival can experience stories on rowing boats, circus in the forest, a peacock puppet, a bee hive especially for Crawley, poetry trails, foraging walks and more.

We encourage visitors to explore and celebrate the green spaces of Tilgate Park through seeing, tasting and hearing the park in a whole new way, with a splash of creativity.

All activity at the festival is FREE.

Around The Lake Festival is produced by Creative Playground. With thanks to Crawley Borough Council.

Creative Playground is part of Without Walls, a network of organisations bringing innovative outdoor arts to towns and cities across England. Find out more on www.withoutwalls.uk.com

What’s happening at the festival?

We are thrilled to be presenting a whole host of live performances, installations and creative activities that celebrate storytelling, pride of place and nature. In addition to the main lineup, there will be self-led activities for visitors to engage with.

Do you run and/or work with a voluntary organisation or group? Get in touch with us to have a conversation about a group visit to Crossings and how we can support your group to access the festival.

Access Information

All event sites at Tilgate Park will be accessible by foot with wheelchair access. Please see event pages for specific information on each event at the festival.

Nearer the time of the festival, this section will be updated.

How to get to Tilgate Park

We are encouraging audiences – where possible – to travel to Tilgate Park either by foot, public transport, bike or car sharing. Please be mindful of residents who live in Tilgate by not parking on residential roads.

MetroBus service 2 runs to K2 Leisure Centre on weekends. Bus Timetable Planner here

Car Parks

There are two Car Parks at Tilgate Park: The Main Car Park and Fishermans Car Park. We recommend parking at Fishermans Car Park. Both car parks cost £4.80 for 4 hours or £6.50 to park All Day (card and cash payments, plus MiPermit App)

For more information about Tilgate Park, see Crawley Borough Council website

Refreshments

Tilgate Park offers a range of restaurants and cafes such as Smith & Western (must book), The Walled Garden Cafe and the Lakeside Cafe.

We also recommend coming to Tilgate Park for the whole day and exploring the park before the festival begins. You could bring a picnic to sit on the green, overlooking the lake.

Environmental Responsibility

We all have a responsibility to keep our green spaces clean! Please use the bins provided by Tilgate Park or take any rubbish away with you.
