We are different shades of people and are all threads in the social fabric of a society celebrating inclusion and belonging. The mural showcases different Crawley buildings chosen by residents and children from The Mill Primary School in Ifield who also feature and helped make the design. Bright colours unite us through our similarities rather than dividing us through difference.

Sarah is an experienced artist, lecturer and facilitator, working professionally as a participatory artist in education for over twenty years.

We invite you to explore the four tunnels. The crow signifies adaptability, reflecting Crawley's resilience. Squirrels, portraying resourcefulness, mirror the inhabitants' creative problem-solving. Geese, symbolising respect for nature, highlight the community's care for the environment and the silhouette of a dog embodies loyalty and companionship, echoing the unity and trust within Bewbush.

Femiy is a distinguished Nigerian multidisciplinary artist renowned for his expertise in public art installations, figurative abstract paintings, content creation, and innovative artistic merchandising.

The design for Broadfield Conversations was made in collaboration with people who use and work in Broadfield Community Centre. Local residents talked about what they love about Broadfield, highlighting the sense of togetherness and support in the area and the community centre as an important place of gathering.

Eloise's imagery is drawn from her surroundings, capturing subtle gestures in body language and movement. She creates images that open up to interpretation on individual as well as collective levels.

The murals celebrate the diversity of the people and the nature in Crawley; the heron represents how both the people and the wildlife migrate. The crow acknowledges the original Saxon name of the town Crow's Leah. The three stripes represent Three Bridges and you may see elements of the peace garden at Tilgate Park in the background.

Head of Art at a local Primary School, Alec strives to inspire and create opportunities for tomorrows adult generation, through, art, sport and charitable causes.

Crawley Oak celebrates the people and nature of Crawley, with the design emerging from conversations with residents and images of local people and places. This tree is inspired by a near by oak tree in Memorial Gardens. As the trees around us change season, the painted tree will remain constant, bringing our attention to these changes and rhythms of nature and inviting us to notice and enjoy our green spaces.

This is the first mural Eloise has created in England. After studying classical realist painting, Eloise combines painting in the studio with murals in public space, motivated by the direct connection between the artwork and communities.
