What is Creative Playground?

Find out more about Creative Playground.

Creative Playground is a new, long term project inviting local people to explore how creativity and culture can make Crawley a better place to live and work. The programme of activities and events are decided by Crawley locals with the aim to bring people together to get creative, share experiences and feel more connected with others. Our vision for Creative Playground is that in 10 years’ time, Crawley will be a creative playground – a colourful and creative place that inspires joyful togetherness and pride of place. Crawley will be a vibrant and inclusive town to live in, grow and learn. A place where we dare to dream for ourselves, for others and for Crawley.

The project is led by Manor Royal Business Improvement District and a consortium of local organisations: Crawley LGBTQU+, The Hawth and Crawley Town Community Foundation. Creative Playground is one of 39 projects around England, funded by Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme, working hand in hand with local people to make art and culture a part of daily life.

You can find out more about how we developed the values and purpose of the project with 18 local people here: Creative Playground People’s Theory of Change.
